    Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium, featherwort, chamomile grande, flirtwort, midsummer dairy, Santa Maria, featherfoil)

     

    ACTIONS: Anti-inflammatory, Bitter, Emmenagogue (stimulate menstrual flow), Vasodilator (open up blood vessels).*

     

    MEDICINAL USES: Feverfew is primarily used for treating and preventing migraine headaches, particularly those eased by the application of warmth to the head. It may also be valuable for arthritis in the painfully active inflammatory stage. It can be used for gout due to its' ability to reduce joint pain and inflammation.*

     

    It may help alleviate diziness and tinnitus, relieve painful periods and sluggish menstrual flow. It can calm stress and anxiety, protect and restore skin, and prevents dangerous blood clots. It is also used to fight cancer by inhibiting cancer cell growth.*

     

    PREPARATION & DOSAGE: To make an infusion (drinking tea), pour 1 cup of boiling water over 1-2 teaspoons of dried herb and infuse for 10-15 minutes, 2x daily.
